A SAFER SUPPLY THROUGH SCIENCE

PA Groundhogs employs mass spectrometry technology to develop regional profiles of the illicit drug supply for public health agencies, harm reduction organizations, treatment providers, clinicians and people who use drugs. We analyze changes in purity and composition, and identify new psychoactive substances — proactively alerting communities about dangerous contaminants, strong batches, and novel analogs. Our service is completely anonymous. Each sample is logged using a unique identifier code known only to the person or organization that submitted it.  We collect no data on users and kit requests are purged following order fulfillment.

Through our affiliation with the Center for Forensic Science, Research & Education (CFSRE) in Horsham, PA, we provide forensic-grade drug checking services that give people who use drugs — and the organizations that serve them — unprecedented transparency into what's actually in the supply. We are one of the only operational mail-in drug checking programs in the United States that accepts whole street drug samples for full mass spectrometry analysis.
